Description
For the 13th consecutive year, the Wadduwa Trade and Industrialists Association proudly presented its grand Vesak Thoran, continuing a cherished tradition that brings together culture, devotion, and community spirit. This year’s Vesak Thoran beautifully depicted the inspiring story of the “Karapaththa Jathakaya”, under the capable leadership of Mr. Buddhika Gunawardana, President for the year 2024–2025.
The opening ceremony was held with great reverence and grandeur, attended by regional Bhikkhus, distinguished guests of honor, community leaders, and a large number of devotees and residents from around the Wadduwa area. The presence of venerable monks and respected invitees added spiritual significance and warmth to the occasion.
The “Karapaththa Jathakaya” – a tale of sacrifice, wisdom, and compassion – was brought to life through vibrant illumination and artistic craftsmanship, drawing admiration from both young and old. The Vesak Thoran served not only as a celebration of the Buddha’s teachings but also as a beacon of unity, peace, and shared cultural values in the heart of Wadduwa.
President Mr. Buddhika Gunawardana expressed his deep appreciation to all who contributed to the successful completion of this year’s Thoran, including the organizing committee, artists, technical teams, sponsors, and the community members whose support made this endeavor possible.
The Wadduwa Trade and Industrialists Association remains committed to preserving cultural heritage while promoting spiritual values among the community, and the annual Vesak Thoran stands as a proud symbol of that mission.
